A letter from the owner-
2011 was a year for change. I retired and ventured out into the world of wine; wine bars, tasting rooms, vineyards, and wineries. I met some interesting people whose eyes lit up when they discussed picking grapes, making wines, and of course drinking wine. I could hear the passion in their voice. I also felt a sense of fulfillment as they described their own experience with wine. I know they told their stories a thousand times but they told it as though it was their first time. There is something about wine that is hard to explain. For me, it's knowing that mother nature does her share of the work. But it's also knowing that the wine maker develops an instinct of knowing when to harvest the grapes and then adding his/her personal touch that makes the wine his/her own. This is the magic of wine that only the wine maker knows. The wine maker is a weatherman, a chemist, a poet, and one who understands the journey of wine from the vineyards to the bottle.
The Pinot Wine Bar and Bistro was born from the idea that the Tower District and the greater Fresno area was in need of a wine bar that featured excellent wines at affordable prices. Our focus was also on preparing exceptional food and handmade desserts. We also offer craft beer knowing that not everyone is a wine lover. We pay close attention to our wine and beer selection, specialized food, music, art, and of course, the people we serve.
